ELLI

STUDY GYM
uses the Effective Lifelong Learning Inventory (ELLI) as an initial diagnostic tool. This gives the student an insight into the possible areas of difficulties that need to be improved for development of their effective Learning Power.

In order to improve learning the first step it is to understand a person’s learning power. At
STUDY GYM we use the Effective Lifelong Learning Inventory (ELLI) as an initial diagnostic tool.

The Effective Lifelong Learning Inventory (ELLI)

This is a seventy-two item questionnaire that was created and validated through research by the Bristol group.  Available online, it instantly produces a profile of each learner, in the form of a 7-spoked spider diagram.

This feedback then becomes the starting point for mentoring conversations and strategies for developing learning power. One of the most important benefits of this approach is that learners become more confident as they develop a whole new language about and a positive attitude towards learning.  Many find their profiles alone quite motivating and when working with a consultant from STUDY GYM significant gains in Learning Power can be achieved.  Together the consultant and student select the dimensions they wish to work on.
